I am Dr. W. D. J. K. Amarasena, a postgraduate trainee in Community Medicine/Public Health from Sri Lanka. I hold MBBS(2009),an MSc (2019) and an MD in Community Medicine (2023), for which I was awarded the Professor D. N. Fernando Gold Medal for my thesis on the HPV-driven male carcinogenic disease burden. I worked as the Regional Epidemiologist in Nuwara Eliya from 2015 to 2018 and at the Epidemiology Unit, Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka, from 2023 to 2025. I am currently an Advanced Research Trainee at NCIRS, Sydney. My research interests include HPV, RSV, influenza, hepatitis B epidemiology, vaccination policy, measles control, cancer prevention, health economics, and modelling. |
