Our client, Preventive Health SA is the South Australian Government’s health promotion agency, leading a dedicated program of prevention work to support the health and wellbeing of all South Australians. Through the delivery and implementation of evidence-based policy and programs, Preventive Health SA is working to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequities for the South Australian community.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, this Executive Director role is responsible for leading a team of public health analysts, researchers and evaluators to drive and deliver health insights, research and innovation to improve health outcomes. The Executive Director will oversee multiple key programs which support effective population-based reporting systems, and provide high level, timely and accurate scientific, data-driven public health advice to the Chief Executive and key stakeholders across government and the wider community.
Guiding the development and implementation of complex and critical initiatives, you will lead the creation of innovative data and research strategies that influence legislation, state-wide programs and government policies which contribute towards achieving the public health priorities established by the South Australian Government and implemented across Preventive Health SA.
Identifying and investigating public health issues and relevant interventions, you will develop and manage health information systems to address public health issues and analyse patterns, trends and outcomes to support both public health research in the State and Preventive Health SA’s vision to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes of South Australians.
We are seeking applications from those with exceptional skills in leading and influencing with a strategic lens; experience engaging and establishing stakeholder relationships across a variety of organisations; influencing public health policy through providing robust evidence and data analysis; and comprehensive experience and knowledge in public health data and research. Qualifications and experience will be considered from a broad range of disciplines where applicants can demonstrate sound technical/scientific knowledge with contemporary executive level leadership.
