Perinatal and Paediatric Epidemiology SIG

The Perinatal and Paediatric Epidemiology Special Interest Group (PPESIG) was formed in August 2007 to provide a forum for focussed discussion on perinatal and paediatric epidemiology, knowledge exchange, and foster collaborative relationships. From initial membership of 36, the PPESIG has now grown to over 65 members.

The current goals for the PPESIG are to:

  • Encourage collaboration in perinatal and paediatric research across Australia, New Zealand and Oceania
  • Facilitate links with clinicians and policy-makers
  • Share the latest in perinatal and paediatric epidemiology research and methods
  • Provide an environment for fostering professional development among early career researchers

We send out quarterly newsletters with links to interesting articles and other research news. Due to Covid-19 we are not currently able to organise get-togethers at the AEA annual meetings, but we organise webinars on topics of interest to perinatal and paediatric epidemiologists. Membership of the SIG is open to all AEA members and does not involve additional cost. If you are interested in being part of the Perinatal and Paediatric Epidemiology Special Interest Group please contact the co-convenors – Ibinabo Ibiebele & Deborah Randall (email:  ppesig@aea.asn.au)
