Associate Professor Brigid Lynch (AEA President 2020 – 2023) was recently elected as the incoming Western Pacific Regional Councillor on the International Epidemiological Association (IEA) Council. Brigid will commence this role during a meeting of the outgoing and incoming IEA Councils on Monday 23 September in Cape Town, just prior to the World Congress of Epidemiology. Brigid will work with Dr Abbey Diaz and the Presidents of other Western Pacific member organisations over the next three years to support professional development, networking and collaboration opportunities for epidemiologists of the region.
